The Daily Catch | Fishing Report – June 2025

We’re officially in the thick of summer fishing, and there’s one thing on every offshore angler’s mind right now—Red Snapper season. It kicked off on June 1st and it’s been nothing short of incredible out there. If you’ve been waiting to book a trip, now’s the time to jump in. The season runs for 107 days, so there’s still plenty of time to get on the books, but don’t wait too long—these trips fill up fast.

Red Snapper and Red Grouper Action

Since opening day, we’ve been bringing in some absolute studs. Red snapper have to be 16 inches to keep, and we’re regularly seeing fish that blow right past that. The biggest so far tipped the scale at 19.6 pounds and stretched out to a whopping 32 inches—a true trophy snapper by anyone’s standards. Each angler is allowed to keep two red snapper, and trust us, those two are worth the ride out.

Speaking of long rides, this time of year we’re running anywhere from 2 to 3.5 hours offshore to get to the prime snapper grounds. It’s a bit of a haul, but the payoff has been more than worth it. The bite is hot, the water’s blue, and the coolers are filling up quick.

Alongside the snapper, we’ve been targeting red grouper, and let’s just say… we’ve been crushing it. Red grouper have to be 20 inches to keep, and the average size we’re seeing has been fantastic. We’re finding them on hard bottom and ledges, and we’ve been using a mix of cut bait, squid, and dead threadfins as bait. If you want that classic grouper thump followed by a solid tug-of-war on the rod, now’s the time to go.

Our 10-12 hour trips are where the action’s really been heating up. In addition to red snapper and grouper, we’ve been pulling in a mixed bag of lane snapper, vermillion snapper, yellowtail, and mangrove snapper along with some surprise Mahi when we see them. It’s been nonstop action with bent rods and smiling faces—exactly what summer fishing is all about.

Steady Action on Half-Day Trips

For those looking for a quicker trip, our 4–6 hour charters are still delivering great fishing closer to shore. We’ve been mixing in some trolling for Spanish mackerel, especially early in the trip, then switching over to bottom fishing for grey snapper (grunts), mangrove snapper, porgies, sea bass, and occasionally a lucky red grouper. We’ve also been ending some trips with a little shark fishing for that extra burst of excitement—always a fun way to close out the day.

The weather’s been mostly cooperative, with plenty of those stunning summer sunrises and sunsets that remind us why we love this job. We’ve dodged a few of those classic Florida summer storms, but we keep a close eye on the radar and always make safety a priority. Most days, though, we’re greeted by calm seas and clear skies, perfect conditions for making lifelong memories on the water.

Snapper Season Runs 107 Days – Don’t Miss Out

Whether you’re chasing a personal-best red snapper or just want a fun day on the water with friends and family, June has been delivering in a big way. Snapper season continues through the summer, and with 107 days total, there’s still plenty of time to book your trip—but spots are filling up fast.
