Hello, fellow fishing enthusiasts! We’re thrilled to bring you the latest updates from Clearwater Beach, Florida, where the fishing action is as hot as the summer sun. Nearshore Action: Perfect for Families & Beginners
For those looking for a more relaxed experience, our 4, 6, and 8-hour nearshore trips have been producing a great variety of fish. Whether we’re bottom fishing or trolling, anglers are reeling in a mix of species such as Key West, Mangrove, and Lane Snappers, along with Porgy, Sea Bass, and smaller Grouper. Fishing in depths between 40 and 60 feet, these trips offer exciting action and are perfect for beginners or families seeking a fun day out on the water.
Full-Day Adventures: Big Fish & Big Fun
If you’re ready to spend a full day on the water, our 8, 10, and 12-hour trips are the way to go. These extended excursions provide even more opportunity for action, as we target larger species. Red Snapper remains our primary target, but we’ve also been bringing in Red Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Lane Snapper, and a few Yellowtail Snapper. And, of course, there’s always the possibility of encountering some Mahi-Mahi swimming by. These fish are typically on the smaller side (12 to 18 inches), but they’re just as fun to catch and make for a tasty meal!
Baiting Success & Red Grouper Season
While we’ve had success with both live and dead bait, the Red Snapper and Grouper seem to prefer the latter. We’ve been using cut Threadfins and chunk bait, and the action has been non-stop. For those targeting Red Grouper, remember that the season will close in August, so be sure to plan your trip soon. However, you still have plenty of time to catch Red Snapper, as the season is open until the end of the day on August 27th.
