Our nearshore trips, which run from 4 to 6 hours, have been producing a diverse array of fish, offering plenty of action for both seasoned anglers and beginners alike. These trips take place in waters ranging from 40-50 feet deep, which is ideal for bottom fishing and trolling.
On these excursions, we’re seeing a variety of snappers including Key West, Mangrove, and Lane Snappers, along with Porgy, Sea Bass, and some smaller varieties of Grouper. Whether you’re a first-timer or just looking for a fun day on the water with family and friends, these trips are the perfect way to dip your toes into the world of saltwater fishing.
All-Day Fishing Trips (8-12 Hours): A Chance for Bigger Catches
If you’re ready to go the distance, our all-day trips (8, 10, or 12 hours) are where things really heat up. During these extended trips, we head further offshore, and the catches become more abundant. Red Snapper remains the prized catch on these longer excursions, but you’ll also find Red Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, and Lane Snapper on the line. Plus, there’s always the chance of a Yellowtail Snapper making an appearance.
This time of year, we’re seeing smaller Mahi-Mahi (around 12-18 inches) cruising by, and if you’re lucky, you might even get the chance to reel one in. With plenty of opportunities for a variety of fish, these trips are perfect for those looking to spend a full day on the water and experience the best that Florida’s fishing has to offer.
Live and Dead Bait: Switching Things Up for Bigger Bites
This summer, we’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with different types of bait to keep the action hot. Live bait like Pinfish has been particularly effective, as well as dead threadfins and squid. Switching up the bait helps to attract different species, ensuring a dynamic and rewarding fishing experience.
